Today in Gear is our daily roundup of all the latest product announcements, drops and news from Gear Patrol Studios.

Audi has announced it will make its Formula 1 debut in 2026. The news follows the company’s decision to close its LMDh program –– despite having secured more than a dozen wins at Le Mans –– but marks an exciting note for what’s to come. While its first F1 racer is still in development, Audi has released images showcasing the car in its signature red and black “Launch Livery.” The car features a halo device, multi-plane front and rear wheels and a full aero kit (including aero disc covers on the wheels) – but the company is yet to release any real performance specs. That said, we do know that the F1 racer will be powered by a hybrid powertrain that pairs a turbocharged 1.6-liter gas engine with a 544-horsepower electric motor.

Today we’re looking at Norse Projects’ first ARKTISK collection, Asics’ new 3D printed slide and a handy outdoor knife from Opinel. This is Today in Gear.

The Big Timber Elite Revere Edition is a wood pellet-burning patio heater that allows users to gather together around a smokeless, real wood fire. American-made (and manufactured entirely in Oregon), this free-standing outdoor heater produces twice the heat as a standard propane patio heater – while costing half as much to operate. The 90,000 BTU heater boasts a 12-foot heating radius. It harnesses a gravity-fed system that requires no electricity and no moving parts, meaning you’ll never have to worry about it breaking down. The Big Timber Elite’s full stainless steel exterior will patina with each use and quickly become your family’s favorite outdoor centerpiece. 20 percent off until Labor Day, this Wood Pellet Patio Heater is the perfect piece to bring your friends and family together.

Built for exploration, ARKTISK is the extended R&D lab from Norse Projects. Now, the brand’s first ARKTISK collection emphasizes its technology-driven approach, providing "innovative outfitting solutions for all users and conditions." Designed to enhance performance, comfort and functionality – in all conditions – the new range includes everything from long down jackets to a "Tech Merino Polo" with plenty of gorgeous base layers in between. Pieces in the collection retail from $350 to $1100, with new styles still yet to drop.

Designed for the delightful moment when EOD rolls around, the new Golden Hour Collection marks Basil Hayden’s first collaboration with Business & Pleasure. The famed bourbon brand describes Business & Pleasure as "stylish, outdoor accessories experts" and suggests pairing pieces within the collection – or the full kit – with one of Basil Hayden’s aperitif style cocktails. Pieces in the collection, like an umbrella-shaped bottle opener, retail for $19 – up to $199 for a premium hardwood folding table. While just released, fans can take 20 percent off the new collection with the code BASILHAYDEN.

Asics first posted the ACTIBREEZE 3D Sandal to its site earlier this month, listing it for $80 and marking it as ‘Out of Stock.’ While some rumors suggested the shoe would be restocked in Autumn, it’s still yet to go live again, though it’s sure to sell out as soon as it does. 3D printed and designed with an open lattice structure for advanced cooling, the slides' thick structure suggests improved post-performance comfort. Fans can sign up at the link below and be notified once the sandals come back in stock.

Opinel’s wooden knives are iconic and immediately recognizable. Now, the brand has added a new feature to its popular outdoor knife; the No. 12 Explore. Measuring 10 inches in total, fans can bring home the No. 12 Outdoor Explore knife for $55 today.
